It can be an STD, true, but you can get warts on your genitalia from those on your hands as well. Be very careful about personal contact with others and go to the doctor for a cure.

Genitalia warts is the female version of genital warts, it's an STD. If you cut yourself shaving down there or get dry during sex and get a "sex friction burn" your skin will develop a wart instead of healing normally. Sometimes these warts can grow to be huge if you don't get them burned off. Burning off the warts is purely cosmetic, there is no cure for genital warts. It's a virus like HIV except it won't kill you

Its caused from the Human Papaloma Virus (HPV). It's sexually transmitted and its pretty much were you get tiny warts "down~there". And if left untreated it could cause cancer. They say that 50% of sexually active teens has the virus and doesn't know it. Many times it lays dormant in the body so the person will show no signs or symptoms. If someone does get the warts the doctor can lazer or freeze them off, but something like getting pregnant (for females) or even stress (males and females) can make them re-appear.

Genital HPV infection is a sexually transmitted disease (STD) that is caused by human papillomavirus (HPV). Human papillomavirus is the name of a group of viruses that includes more than 100 different strains or types. More than 30 of these viruses are sexually transmitted, and they can infect the genital area of men and women including the skin of the penis, vulva (area outside the vagina), or anus, and the linings of the vagina, cervix, or rectum. Most people who become infected with HPV will not have any symptoms and will clear the infection on their own.

Some of these viruses are called "high-risk" types, and may cause abnormal Pap tests. They may also lead to cancer of the cervix, vulva, vagina, anus, or penis. Others are called "low-risk" types, and they may cause mild Pap test abnormalities or genital warts. Genital warts are single or multiple growths or bumps that appear in the genital area, and sometimes are cauliflower shaped.

Genital warts are small, often painless bumps in or round the vagina, penis, or anus.

They are caused by a virus (a kind of germ). It is called HPV (the human papilloma virus).

You get HPV by having sex with someone who has the virus.

HPV is spread by having vaginal, anal, or oral sex.

Even if the warts go away or are removed, the virus stays in your body and can be spread to others.

Genital warts may be small, flat, flesh-colored bumps or tiny, cauliflower-like bumps. In men, genital warts can grow on the penis, near the anus, or between the penis and the scrotum. In women, genital warts may grow on the vulva and perineal area, in the vagina and on the cervix. Genital warts vary in size and may even be so small that you can't see them. They can lead to cancer of the cervix in women or cancer of the penis in men.

Genital warts are caused by the Human papillomavirus (HPV). There are many kinds of HPV. Not all of them cause genital warts.
