I have a 30 gb IPOD. It has about 18 movies on it right now and I have only used about 8 gb. I purchased a video converter from the internet for about 30.00 that converts your DVD into a format that you import into your IPOD. As long as your own the DVD you should be fine to put it on. The conversion program copies your movie in about half the time it takes to view it. Putting it on the IPOD is pretty quick though. Good luck..

the average movie in ipod format is usually about 1gb or less. is it legal? only if it is a movie that u own that u have put onto your computer. It isn't illegal to use movies that u own for your own personal use. if u download it is illegal. once the movie is on the computer, convert it to .MP4 format using Videora iPod Converter (freeware) that u can download from videora.com. then just add it to your itunes library and put it on your ipod. i have about 20 movies, 300 songs, and 150 pictures on my 60gb ipod and i am only using 17gb of space on it.

Spacewise - yes. 30G is more than enough. Legally - no. Cost - read the opening on any movie DVD and it will tell you how much the fine is.
