Best advice I ever got:
Work out what's the most important thing you want to achieve in your life. Every single day, no matter what's happening and what you're feeling, make real and actual progress towards achieving it.

Other than that, learn from history. Learn from the experiences of other people and listen when they share them with you. Learn from the mistakes of others and remember that you do not know everything.
