People are always saying how America (or the world in general) is in such a bad condition. (mentioning problems like Iraq War, energy crisis, etc.) But has America ever actually been in a "good" direction and position before? Was there ever a time when America was care-free and peaceful? Isthe quantity of our problems actually increasing, or are we just experiencing different types of problems than we have been for the past few centuries?

From 1918 until 1929, America enjoyed a period of peace and prosperity, but even then there were problems to overcome. There is no utopia and there never will be one.

America until the last 25 years had morals(Just answered a question).Most Americans were Christians.Abortion wasn't an option(butchering babies) for babies.Christians weren't a politically incorrect group.Criminals were punished not a mistreated group.Up until WW 2 our troupes were honored for their job.You could drive a car without alot of red tape.Young people now like to curse and order around their parents.I never have cursed my mother or father.Talk to some people who remember a free America (still barely free).Can answer on Yahoo Answers.We need to return to our roots.

After World War 2. Women stayed home and raised the kids, blacks were out of the way, homosexuals were still considered mentally ill, feminists were ignored, and most Americans were against the communist scurge, and immigrants had to apply to get here.
Look at our country now? A freakin' landfill.

Hasn't happened yet. However, I'd say from 1985 -1990 was the best so far.

It was always something.
problems seem especially extreme these days, however, because of technology. weapons, but also the media and television, who like to blow everything out of proportion.
