fisrt off i understand what u r saying im a 28 yr old white guy from south memphis i was the only white kid in my high school and neighborhood the key is to be yourself and dont listen to what everyone else says when you grow up in a certain area u pick up on habits and ways of that area and why does it have to be that you talk or act a certain color? be you man

hey im in the same situation just switched around im black and ive been surrounded by white culture so i talk like a white girl and even my parents and friends call me a white girl

Trying to fit in is natural. In fact, genetically, it's a survival mechanism. Some people will pick up foreign accents after just a few minutes of being around people talking with them.

people can be so cruel and judgemental sometimes...I'm black and I tend to hang out with white people and be influence by their culture (the way I dress, places I go, etc), and you know what, I love it and my friends! You shouldn't let anybody tell you who you can or can't be around. If you're more comfortable being with black people then it's your prerogative...hold strong to your beliefs and principles and don't let anybody tell you differently, just be who you want to be!
