Well, I am not a big fan of him either, but I remember 10 years ago everybody loved him and thought he was gorgeous. And now all of you hate him? Why? Because of his youg wife? Because he divorced Nicol? Please, tell me, I am curious.

"You don't know the history of psychiatry. I DO"
That's what he said to Matt Lauer about Brooke Shields Problems. It's his justification for being an @sshole
I know the history and I bet Matt does too. Yes they used electric shock therapy and lobotomies.
That was a long time ago. These things weren't very effective treatments for mental illness. It doesn't have much to do with modern day approaches to psychiatry.
I know the history of Germany too but I don't condemn modern day Germans for it.
I saw the South Park episode about Tom Cruise and Scientology and They believe we came to earth on UFOs and are going back some day. TOM, YOU DON"T KNOW THE HISTORY OF UFOs. I DO.

I think the reason people aren't on the Tom Cruise bandwagon isn't because he has a young fiancee (they aren't married yet) or that he divorced Nicole. I think it has a lot to do with him coming out and ramming his Scientology ideals down people's throats. Take what he said about people on anti-depression medication--he really went after Brooke Shields and her post partum issues. Listen to the way he talked with Matt Lauer in his interview. See, Tom Cruise is a movie star. He is not a doctor nor a psychologist nor is he a woman--so why does he have to go out and condemn people for not agreeing with him? Go ahead and let people know how you feel about your religion and such, but don't act so santimonious in that what you have to say is the ONLY correct thing. That I think is the crux of the issue with people, including myself, for not being Tom Cruise's biggest fans at the moment. I know a lot of actors are political and are engaged in different things, so how is that any different in what Tom Cruise is doing? Well, my biggest issue is that he likes to tell women how to behave. He should shut up and do what he does best--act in movies. He is perfectly within his rights to say whatever he wants, but he is a celebrity and his box office appeal depends solely on how people perceive him. And right now, I think the perception is that people are tired of him and his rants. Plus also, he acted so stupid with his whole "I love Katie Holmes" tirade he went on with the press. Congratulations Tom, you got a young'un. So what? He is acting unlike anyone has seen him--and it isn't playing well with fans. That's my 2 cents, anyway. :)

I think what started it was when he jumped up and down on Oprah Winfrey's couch, proclaiming his love for Katie Holmes. Then there are the stories that he "interviewed" her for the position of a girlfriend. And lets not forget how he ranted at Matt Lauer during a Today show interview about Brooke Shields and her post-partum depression and how drugs aren't necessary to help someone with it.

By the way...he and Katie aren't married.

It's not because he's divorced but well. . .Katie Holmes is part of my problem with him. It's just that he's so freakin' psychotic right now. He kept it to himself in the 90s and we didn't hear much about him and I didn't know he was a Scientologist but all of sudden, in 2005, he's boasting about a girl half his age, jumping on Oprah Winfrey's couch like a kid who had sucked on too many Pop Rocks, and going about and pushing about his beliefs of Scientology. He's is a walking nutcase now and he seriously gives me the creeps. I think he needs to go back to being this quiet type a guy and not promote how psychotic he is.

I've never been a big fan of him. Recently he's presented himself as a nut- jumping all over the place, the glib thing, his insistance that people shouldn't take medications, the fact that his daughter hasn't been seen since her birth, etc. If he cools down the public displays, public opinion will probably swing again

Because he's lost his mind and follows a religion that was invented by a guy that not that long ago was most famous for writing fiction about outerspace aliens. There's been rumors that he offered many Hollywood actresses a money to have his baby aswell, which I dont respect.

He has gone over the top and has started acting like a real jerk, I mean when he decides he is going to tell Brooke Shields how to handle post partum depression thats going to far. He has really been pushing his religion a lot and anyone that doesn't agree with him is wrong.

I think people started disliking him because of his views he now has. Specifically his interest in scientology. Personally, I think he is a great actor!!! I love many of his
movies. The only thing I don't like about him is that he critiscized Brook Shields on taking meds for her depression, and that's not cool. I think people don't like him because of that, and they also think he is acting childish by jumping on Oprahs couch.

I respect him as a person, I admire him as an actor but lately I don't know what's wrong with him-jumping on Oprah Winfrey's couch, his Scientology thing and with his baby's birth- wow man!I liked him when he kept his life private!!!

Because we are tired of hearing him in almost every magazine and talk show about how much he loves Kaite and where they met, how they met, and when they get married. HELLO??? They arent the only couple in America; get over it!
