I did just activate it (it's pre-paid) yesterday, but I've turned my phone on and off many times & it still says "searching".

I am not sure why the phone is not connecting to the network, since you do have full signal bars you should be able to place and receive calls. When a phone says searching and has signal its normally a defective sim. However, as soon as you get the chance I would advise you to call Cingular Tech Support. First contact cust svc via 1800-331-0500 or 611 from your cell phone and explain the issue so they can verify that the acct is active and then proceed with troubleshooting your phone. Also since this is new activation, make sure you keep your receipt and box showing proof of purchase in case phone is defective so that you can return it. You have 30 days to return back to the store or ship to the Cingular Returns Warehouse.

Hope this helps!
