I am having pain under my breasts and in my back all the way down to my rearend. I am nearly 39 weeks. I also feel like i need to vomit and i have a 99 fever. I honestly do not remember what my first birth felt like because they gave me the epideral after 2 light contractions which was dumb on their part. Help please! Have had membranes stripped and i am 4 cm dilated. These started at 2:30 this afternoon.

Sounds like it could be labor. You can't compare it to your first birth even if you did remember, every one can be so different. My second was nothing like my first. You should probably call your doctor or at least call the hospital and talk to an OB nurse. They can tell you whether or not you should come in to get checked. What an exciting time for you!!!

NOt sure, Ia m pregnant with my 4th and due in a few weeks. With EVERy one of them it has been different. Lthough my best friend just had her fourth 2 days ago and when she was having mild pain in her stomach..thought it was from heat and being on her feet. She went home and had some more pain..waited a few hours of not terrible pain but crapms...her husband finally convinced her that she should go in case....she got there and was 10 centimeters. Although 2 days before she was 1 cm. The baby came in 7 minutes after she arrived at the hospital...it is insane....so I am like so nervous how htis baby is coming and when...sooo I feel ya..but I would go to the hospital or at least call your Dr.

It sounds like labor to me. I would go on to the hospital because if a fever is present then most likely so is some kind of infection. It could be dangerous to you and the baby.

Most hospitals will admit you into the l/d when you are 4 cm dialated. but maybe you should try some nipple stimulation which will start up contractions and help move the process along.

If the pains are coming in intervals and your tummy tightens up during the pain you may be in labor. You could just be having Braxton-Hicks too though. Your best bet is to go to the doctor!
