Your love of cannabis is that the THC binds to certain receptor cells in your brain. Some people claim it will make you psychologically addicted, psychotic, enlarge you breast if you are a man and ruin your motivation and short term memory and response time.
It does to some people and it doesn't to others.
Cigarettes are physically addicting. They allegedly have over 100 dangerous chemicals in them. The name of these ingredients are a trade secret so they don't have to list them on the side of the pack. Lung cancer is caused by smoking.
Smoking cannibals could damage you if you get arrested or develop a lung disease. You pay your money and you take your chances.

No cigarettes are far worse for you then the occasional joint.
Here is a list of interesting facts about marijuana smoking and tobacco smoking:
o Marijuana smokers generally don't chain smoke, and
so they smoke less
o Tobacco contains nicotine, and marijuana doesn't.
o Marijuana contains THC. THC is a bronchial dilator,
which means it works like a cough drop and opens up
your lungs, which aids clearance of smoke and dirt.
Nicotine does just the opposite; it makes your lungs
bunch up and makes it harder to cough anything up.
o There are benefits from marijuana (besides bronchial
dilation) that you don't get from tobacco. Mainly,
marijuana makes you relax, which improves your health
and well-being.
o This may sound funny to you -- but the more legal
marijuana gets, the safer it is.
Some people add other drugs to marijuana before they sell it. Some people spray room freshener on it or soak in in chemicals like formaldehyde! A lot of the marijuana is grown outdoors, where it may be sprayed with pesticides or contaminated with dangerous fungi.

The answer is yes: more tar, apart from the long-term effects it has on the brain. But then a smoker easily smokes 20 a day, but I hope you don't do quite that amount in weed. But really, you can really f... up on weed ( know enough who did), so cutting down is always an option!

NO! Weed itself is better for you. There was just a study done on this. I read this on CNN, but here's the same story from the Washington Post.
Here's the link:

Keep in mind that smoking anything is probably not GOOD for you.
More research is needed, especially in the benefits of weed dept.

I doubt it because people that smoke tobacco may smoke anywhere from 24-48 cigarettes a day, whereas, someone smoking marijuana will only smoke 1 or 2 hoglegs a day.
Now, if you smoked 24-48 hogs a day, I'd say you were harming yourself worse than cigarettes, because cigs at least have filters.

It's actually WORSE! Q: Isn't smoking marijuana less dangerous than smoking cigarettes and can people become addicted to marijuana? A: Smoking marijuana is even worse than smoking tobacco or chewing tobacco. One joint affects the lungs as much as four cigarettes! Research confirms that people can become addicted/hooked on marijuana. Today's marijuana is more potent and it is not always what it seems! Before it is sold, marijuana can be laced with other dangerous drugs without your knowledge! "Blunts"- hollowed out cigars filled with marijuana- sometimes have substances such as crack cocaine, PCP, or embalming fluid added to them!!! STAY AWAY from drugs and Just say NO!!! DARE TO RESIST!

Both have their down side. Both are addictive. Tobacco has associations with cancer and heart disease.
weed is linked with mental health issues. Some ppl are very irrational and aggressive and unrealistic whilst on this drug. It can slow down reflexes and make ppl feel that they are more in control than they actually are. It can lead to experimentation with stronger drugs. Many ppl in hospital with mental health issues have been on cannabis.
I don't touch either of them and never have.

yes weed is more harmful than cigarettes, especially if your olds catch you!
seriously; tobacco is tobacco, walter raleigh bought it back in the 1600's, and weve been smoking it ever since. however, cancers and smoking related diseases have only become prevalent in the last sixty or so years...why? manufacture, and process. since the introduction of ready rolled cigs, they added chemicals, shitloads of them. and no one has ever tested the long term effects of formaldehyde, or cellulose, or benzene, on the human body. if they had testing would have begun in the 1930's, and we know that didnt happen.
i smoke golden virginia, and yes it has been known to have some weed added on occasions...actually ive been smoking since they chopped off my legs in 1982...(morphine does **** all for phantom pains) and my health is good. i went thru the psychosis, which wasnt very nice, but thats what happens when you get some good weed... paranoia sets in. just because they have a reason to watch you, doesnt mean they are.
both GV and weed are natural substances, with nout added or taken away, and if used within reason, shouldnt cause any problems. but, powerful weed has equally powerful side effects. like paranoia, which can lead to psychosis dementure and schitsophrenia. it ***** with your short term memory, and it can make you depressed, lethargic and lifeless. it makes you apathetic. lazy. scruffy and eventually unemployed, but only if you let it. weed is great in small doses. we laugh, we howl, its a great social drug, but so is alcohol, and look what happens when we overdo it... a heavy session or two, and youll feel like **** for days afterwards. you'll forget important stuff...and you'll make mistakes. and driving..oh no...big ******* mistake... treat gettin stoned like gettiing pissed, dont drive or operate heavy machinery...youll probably kill someone, more n likely yourself, or some poor innocent stood at the side of teh road.
and looking at your atrocious spelling, i figure you got stoned at school...it shows, so maybe the damage is already done. smoking weed ***** your education up. you cant retain information, or grasp complex subjects, and hard sums...oh give me hope... and, your comments of tobacco, get real. i have never smoked a cigarette...and im still addicted to tobacco....stop deluding yourself. its all very addictive. we have self determination, its what sets us apart. and for my sins, i dont do alcohol at all. and i smoke around 3.5grams a week. (maybe 3 or 4 joints a day) but believe me, its better than the cocktail of legal drugs the doctors would have me take, like, temgesic, diazepam temazepam, all of them highly addictive, and all of them can kill you if misused, and all of them freely available from your GP.
it took me almost 4 years to kick the heroin substitute, they prescribed, and i still get anxiety attacks, but i dont use any pain medication whatsoever, bar teh occasional spliffy.... i dont even have a cough!
im not the only one who enjoys a nice joint, and over the last 25 years, if id been using alcohol, my liver would be pickled, my brain addled, and my life expectancy cut by 20 years... so, smoke by all means, but be responsible, and be aware of what it can do to you. heroin kills you, weed just ***** you up.

Scientists say so because it burns hotter and quicker than tobacco. Also other than damaging your lungs they reckon it can cause mental health problems as it can damage memory and can also make you paranoid and in some instances has been linked to schizophrenia.
