A 12 y/o asked: Who from New Orleans?
An answerer replied: "Who from New Orleans? YOU from New Orleans. Another 12 year old who can't form a decent sentence."
I think, the kid can probably text message an encyclopedia in 30 seconds. He's on summer vacation and realizes that this is a computer forum. As such he slacked off on the grammar. Why not just answer his question and let the grammar slide. After all, it's not like we're doing PhD dissertations here. Who do you agree with?

Put me down for "rude". If you get the gist of what they are asking, just answer the question. Save "grammar" for the school system. Its no big deal here, at least not to me. I suppose the only way some people can get in on answering any questions, is to grade the questioner on his" grammar" and "spelling". It makes them feel superior, but totally out of touch with the person and their "real" problem.

Yes, I agree that the answerer was rude. I've been so alarmed at the literary skills of people on this forum. So many people can't spell even the simplest of words. And their grammar is not even present. But, I think the kinder action is to just not answer those questions. Thanks for a thoughtful question.

I think that they understood the question well enough to answer it regardless of the grammar. In most cases that's what you get here misspellings (bad grammar) etc. in order to get your question in. If you can understand it well enough to answer, whats' the problem? If you can't understand, don't answer.

its very rude. everyone does it and uses slang on this...people make rude remarks because there is a screen infront of them instead of a real person or i bet most of them wouldnt.
