I worked night shift for sixteen years. You are always tired during the day, I never got used to that. Not being able to sleep well after the second night off in a row, I have to take something to help me sleep. Weight gain. Quicker aging. Stress. Not being able to do some family functions, because you won't get enough sleep. and will have to stay up all night. Getting fired if you get caught sleeping on the job because you're not used to it. Otherwise, the nightshift crew is the best by far in my experience. At 4:30 ---5:00 a.m. you get a second wind that will blow the whole place down. I'm also damn good at my job. I work in nursing.

My brother has worked this shift for about 4 years. His body still isn't used to sleeping in the day and being up all night. It's not a natural body rhythm. On his days off he has to keep the same schedule or his body gets messed up. He sometimes has trouble with wanting to sleep at night, and/or going to sleep during the day. He doesn't get much sunlight so there's a health concern there. It's just hard on the body.

Once you get used to it, it is like a regular shift from 9 to 5. That is, if you sleep 7 to 8 hours a day.

Unless of course you are a vampire, it will take away your feeding time.

Unless of course you work in a pace where people turn up missing and no questions asked.

Unless of course...

I don't think it affects your physcial heath just your sleep patterns.
But the third shift has the most fun all the freaks come out at night LOL!!!!!!

Brother I am a nurse and I have been doing nights for years. I am desperately trying to get something where I don't have to work them. They mess up you metabolism, make you fat. There was also a study that shows that people who work nights have a higher risk of getting cancer. I hate it.
