It isn't about fear, it is about attraction! I have had relationships (to some success) with men, but I am just not terribly attracted to them! I love women, and am in a very fulfilling relationship with the woman I am going to marry! Why would you think that we are afraid of anything just because of our preference? Why are you scared of sex with your own gender? That's what I'd like to know!

You are such a stereotypical Hater They aren't afraid, they simply just don't desire a relationship with the opposite sex. You really need to take a walk outside sometime, or maybe even pick up a book. Hey your on the Internet, that's a start, do some research, then ask an intelligent question.

I've never heard of gay people being afraid of relationships with the opposite sex. I have plenty of male friends. I also have many family members who are male, and I have great relationships with them.

I just don't fall in love with them and I'm not physically, mentally, emotionally attracted to them.

This question could beg the same question for heterosexual people: Why are heteros so afraid of relationships with the same sex?

Really, riddle me that.

You could turn this question around and ask 'why are straights so afraid of relationships with the same sex'? Because they are not oriented that way and find the idea gross. This idea is a two way street, gays are grossed out by hetero sexual relationships just as much as str8s are by gay ones.

That's an interesting theory. That's my opinion too ... that gays are just afraid of the opposite sex and settle for their own sex.

I wouldn't say afraid, but why would a gay guy ant a relationship at all with a woman? Why would a lesbian want to get with a guy? Probably because of the gay thing. No need to spend time in pointless relationships

I don't think fear plays into it.

Homosexuals are only sexually and romantically attracted to people of the same gender. That doesn't mean that they fear or hate those of the opposite gender. It also doesn't mean that they don't have relationships with the opposite gender, they just don't have SEXUAL relationships with the opposite gender. In point of fact, a much higher percentage of straight men are misogenous (hate women) than gay men.

Furthermore, you are not afraid of relationships with your own sex are you? But you have no interest in sexual relationships or romantic relationships with them do you? Same, exact thing.

So, try again.

We're not AFRAID, we just aren't interested in the opposite sex. Why are you afriad of relationships with the same sex?

Afraid? No.

Gay people don't want relationships with the opposite sex for the same reason that straight people don't want relationships with the same sex - they feel no attraction for them.

It's really that simple.
