Deodorant takes away just the smell of BO.
The anti-perspirant makes you stop sweating where you apply it.

I think deodorant makes more of a smell and is there to diguise/overpower your own body smells. Where as anti-perspirant is designed to stop you sweating/absorb sweat rather than just cover up the smell.

Anti perspirant stops one from sweating totally. Deodorant allows you to sweat but has ingredients to kill the odor the sweat would cause.
