Till the age of five, I used to believe nothing had existed until I had been born. The world in my (childhood) opinion was directly correlated with my own arrival :)

So when do you think, did this universe really get born the way we know about it now?

Well to answer that question... you would first have to answer many others.. and you will probably hear theories such as the big bang.. which I believe was not really what happened completely as to have a large explosion would mean that you would essentially need matter? In the begginning there would be no matter as there was nothingness... and infinate period of negativity and zero energy or at least energy at zero frequency.. not moving.. that begs many other questions such as then what caused this explosion and I answered that many months ago on this page http://www.guardian.co.uk/science/story/0,,1746376,00.html
You should read my posts I am the poster known as "Bewise".. You can read what I wrote and you will understand my theories.. basically I explain that I believe in a rupture of light rather that a large explosion.. a matterless explosion of gargantuan proportions.. I explained my theory that negative energy or energy that is not positive and moving would be at zero and therefore since energy gains density (thickness) at certain speeds would be seemingly non-existant.. so undense that it has no mass and no density whatsover.. energy in this form is known as the void to me.. energy moving at the speed of light has density and compacts into what you see as a physical world around you.. Dirt and dust that can support life.. If you look into our universe dirt and more complex molecules like water in comparison to the whole universe is accually quite rare.. there is plenty of it.. but there is much more free flowing molecules.. energy that is compacted becomes soil.. water .. and the other elements.. over eons.. when you pick up a hand full of dirt you might have been picking up a star made eons ago.. If you destroy it and burn it.. It once again may take eons to return itself to again become soil.. it it ever does. It may however speed up its celeritas (the speed of light) and it may become part of the energy that encircles the world at least in an atomic perspective once again.. Just as you body in its physical form may have been only aranged in the physical state its in right now may appear to be you.. the energy that makes up your body was created through the birth of the universe and may be eons old.. older than the oldest tree.. and even the planet.. If you take these things into perspective you may ask .. ok then where did the original energy come from.. The largest energy producing engine in out solar system may be a start.. That would be the sun.. then you may ask where did the sun come from? What was it like on day 1 of the suns arrival in this area of space? was it hot? Can we watch a star being born to find out? Do you think empty space was hear prior to a star? why is that energy there if all things are made of energy including what appears to be simply empty space whihc is also accually resonating and vibrating energy particles as well.. but moving in a very cold area and vibrating slower.. therefore becoming very cold.. There is an ampty area of space awaiting a star to be born in.. What makes it spontaneously appear in that neck of the woods you may ask.. Read my other posts and you will begin to understand.. If there is energy in an area it becomes what you may see as created space.. if there was no energy or not enough energy it would seemingly at least to the human mind not seem to exist at all in a real world state.. as it cant be seen.. heard.. felt.. or touched.. It would be invisible but still there in a basic elemental sortof stage.. awaiting.. as faster moving particles began to enter that area of space it would become created and therefore push the "void" further into the depths of nothingness.. You could never measure the temperature of the void for as to do so would mean that you are now entering the void as energy.. energy completes the cycle and would make it real and existant in a physical world.. As energy moves closer to the edge of the void it would repel the energy but slowly lose the fight as more energy expanded into it.. it enough energy hit one area of the void in a less colder or more colder area which is wwhat gives the void its strength it would be like an overflow of energy.. and a star is born.. To find out how old the universe is.. One must ask how old are the stars.. and they were hear since the beginning of physical reality... How old is the the non-physical yet physical reality of the void? Thats a very hard question and the answer is that its impossible to know.... I would say that time is a loop.. similiar to a circle.. asking where a circle begins seems hard.. but it began where you pressed you finger down and began to draw the circle.. the beginning is the end and the end is the beginning.. the beginning it the rupture of light and the end is where the slow light of the universe gets converted to faster light at the moment the fast moving energy hits and builds up against the void.. Until a rupture occurs and the light it accelerated.. Since light is energy and energy is magnetism.. thats why the sun doesnt excape its boundries and has a shape and form.. Some light will free itself.. but most will be used to amass the sun.. So you answer to how old the universe is.. can never truly be told.. but there is much to learn.. Very Truly Yours... Bewise

Are you attempting to advise that the universe is Jesus...? also, when we discuss the age of the universe, we advise the era of time that has surpassed because the great Bang. we do not recognize how lengthy the count and ability of the universe replaced into sitting there beforehand it all started increasing, or if using a length of time is even something which could make experience to do there. For all intents and applications, our universe all started with the great Bang, inspite of the actuality that.

No one can know for sure. Believers will tell you they know but they just believe they know and belief does not equal fact.
Creationism? Intelligent design? Evolution? Interesting theories and beliefs but they are just that, theories and beliefs, created by humans in a desperate attempt to come up with an answer for our existence.

I personally have no need to make up a story every time I don't understand something.

Atheist.

Well even if the universe started when you were born, everything here hints at the fact that this has always been going; was it ever born? Does it just keep going?
