Why don't employers think... Dude aint worked for a while, must be despirate and will work hard as finally got a job?

Or the reason why unemployed is interviewers reject him as others rejected him hence being unemployed that long

or why dont they think lots of jobs no realavance to qualifications... This means he got off butt and did work he did not like, that went nowhere and barely paid pocket money as it sure did not pay bills...

Man he must really want a good job to use those skills...

Or why dont they think...

Ex pole dancer, must be fit and strong. Maybe get her giving the staff a work out each morning, get them fit and therefore more productive?

Now thats a great idea Jaci..

If I was an employer you would get promoted for that...

Extra workers would = more slaes.

You get good rep with customer as they get to afford that nice gift.

Other customers happy as they get served.

And most of these jobs dont requirte brains...

But then Im rational. Why are employers ego led?

It's not always the case that it counts against you, it's just nothing counts for you.

I get up to 100 applicants for every vacancy. What is there counting in your favour when they might have more to offer?

I shared your frustration. It's always easier to get a job when you've already got one. I was out of work for 12 months once and finally went self-employed using skills I have. Can you do that?

One thing employers want is a team that will give them an advantage over their competitors. When you go for interviews, do you study the firm in advance and think of ways your knowledge, skills and aptitudes can benefit them in this way? Do you talk about yourself or about what you can do for them?

Another thing that good employers want is a team that will work together. Show them you will fit in.

Get answers ready to the question, "Why should we employ you?" It's a cruel question and invites you to say what a wonderful person you are, but the best answer should be what you see they need, not what's great about you - see the change of emphasis?

You seem to have qualifications and another cruel response from interviewers is, "You're overqualified." I answer this saying, "I can see I have qualifications you don't need, but I take it, I also have all the qualifications you do need."

Whoever you are, never give up! Be proud of yourself, not a braggard, just behave with self-worth. You have a right to be here and a right to a job. Be proud of your age, your race, your life skills and, in an interview, act as if you are enthusiastic to excel in their vacancy. I hope you find a really good job soon.

Don't know, but I've had some of the same thoughts myself. I used to wonder why shops didn't offer ad hoc work to customers at really busy times, eg 2pm on Christmas Eve.
