I know, but are you, or is that original sin

We assume you meant "VAIN" not vane.
Philosophers are often vain persons, since they analyze everything and assume that the answer THEY come up with is the right one.
What makes them assume they are correct is Vanity. Not 'vainity'.
Go figure, huh?

You know what?

If it is an original sin, than, not only does that change from person to person, but if something is a sin, why is it aloud to happen?

Am I vane? Am I a philosopher?

I don't think that philosophers are vain as far as their personal appearance and materialistic possessions are concerned. Surely some are - we can't generalize, but as a rule most probably are not.

What I might consider as vain is sitting around all day and overthinking mundane things, or thinking about matters that are vital to peace, and humanity, and never acting upon the thoughts. That is thinking in vain - for no real purpose. Vanity is the useless, fruitless expenditure of energy.

This type of vanity is not much different than someone having plastic surgery that is not also reconstructive surgery. In other words, purely for the sake of looks.

Lol.

Is vanity a SIN?
I don't respect anyone that doesn't
love themselves, first, in some deep way.

What the hell good are you if you don't
even know or care about yourself.

This world is vanity, appearances!
spectacles to see the spectacular.

We killed God to become gods... and y'all still think Jesus is going to save you from your... vanity? your Sin? haha.. from your own Power? gg getting lost and irrelevant.
