There is no difference in attitude at all. People just don't like mirrors.

this is definitely a question asked by an uneducated person...
In communist states, there is no freedom of the press, so you couldn't be typing what you just typed... If you say something bad about the government, you are either imprisoned for life or executed... there's a difference
in communist states, the leader has historically conducted purges, rather than rewarding "good party members" they have them executed for fear of losing power... and in a communist state, there is only one party, the communist one.
you should really read some history before you spout off idiotic statements like that...
I can't stand our current leader but to compare our system to communism is just a sign of total ignorance.

Here's a history lesson: back in the 1980s, President Ronald Reagan rejected the "moral equivalency" attitude championed by Liberals. Reagan had a very clear vision of the world, and he knew better than to equate the Western system of freedom with the slavery of Communism.
The U.S. doesn't believe our military might gives us "moral authority". It is our system of democracy that at least makes the attempt to guarantee freedom and justice to its adherents. The U.S. is founded upon the moral principles laid out by the Founding Fathers, and each generation tries to live up to those standards as best it can.
Remember, Communism can only survive upon lies. Once the populace knows the truth, it will rebel against the Communist slave masters.
If you want to see the true, vile nature of Communism, watch the movie DARK BLUE WORLD. It recounts how the brave Czech pilots who refused to surrender fled to England to join the fight against the Nazis. After the war, the Communists feared they had picked up dangerous Western ideas about freedom. So, they had these heroic Czech pilots thrown into a nighmarish prison, where some of the guards were the same Nazis they risked their lives to defeat.
If you watch DARK BLUE WORLD, you will understand the night and day difference between the moral underpinnings of the U.S. as opposed to Communism.
Your comments are very cynical. Recently, I heard Stephen Colbert's commencement at knox college. He said, "cynicism is a self-imposed blindness, a rejection of the world because we are afraid it will hurt us or disappoint us. Cynics always say no. But saying “yes” begins things."

I would be very intrigued if the following article might give you something to think about. It has certainly influenced my thinking.

Perhaps the most interesting Middle Eastern response to Bush's war on terror came from the leader of the Lebanese infitada, Walid Jumblatt. This is what he said:
"It's strange for me to say it, but this process of change has started because of the American invasion of Iraq," explains Jumblatt. "I was cynical about Iraq. But when I saw the Iraqi people voting three weeks ago, 8 million of them, it was the start of a new Arab world." Jumblatt says this spark of democratic revolt is spreading. "The Syrian people, the Egyptian people, all say that something is changing. The Berlin Wall has fallen. We can see it."

We are, obviously, a democracy. We have the right to vote, and we have freedom (to a point). We work hard, and we reap what we sow.
Communism was built upon the idea that all men are equal. Everyone has an equal portion of everything, no matter WHO you are, and no matter WHAT you do.
The reason that communism isn't viewed as a good thing is because of the fact that it's so easy for dictators to arise.
... I guess I can see the similarities.

a_team_rerun brings up some interesting points...
conservatives "support" the free press?... they constantly label it all as "liberal bias"... and often as "detrimental to the good of America" (like when the times released the story on the financial recording).... doesn't sound very supportive...
conservatives don't purge? ... maybe not killing people... but McCain is almost an independent at this point due to the fact that he doesn't always agree with the party... and Colin Powell was basically thrown off the cabinet for disagreeing with Bush's plans...
To me... it seems like they support many of these so-called "communist ideas"... but that "damn" (as Bush says) little piece of paper, the Constitution, keeps on getting in the way.. .and they can't quite "follow-through" on them the way that they might like too... all these civil liberties won't allow them to be the dictatorship that they seem to lean toward...

The USA's con. has not jailed any of your relatives yet, have they? They haven't taken away your freedoms of travel, assembly, speech, religion, the press, or any of that stuff, have
they??? That is the difference between the USA's CON. and communism. Without the USA military, half of the Europeans
would still be under Communist dictatorship. THINK ABOUT IT!!!!

well it is not hard to see you do not like whats become of the U.S.A. over the last 40 years .THATS when it all started rich men who supported the war and toiled for years in the plants to make ships and planes and bombs taken to account for the profits they made .THEY will never work that hard again for america.this is why i suggest that all contractors who develop weapons systems become non profit companies with strict pay schedueles from workers to management .IF american companies do not share technology with uncle sam well they can get out .do not do it for free but if you come up with a good system hand it over foe the defense of all americans .
well i do not support war at all but some defense is appropriate i guess .
CIVIL defense and coast guard a strong air force and millions of american insugents can protect our lands .

The communists don't believe in god, the comservatives believe in god.
I'll come back later to this question if I think of more differences.
