i'm just curious to know how much semen can make a girl pregnant. here's the catch-- i had unprotected sex with my girl friend during ovulation but i didn't ejaculate inside her. after i ejaculated outside, i cleaned the semen off my penis with a tissue paper and continued. i would like to know if this could cause pregnancy. thanks :)

it just takes one sperm and some find there way out prior to ejaculation. Also continuing after the wipe would further enhance the chances of pregnancy because some would still be present and escape after continuing. They are indeed crafty little critters and have the escaping ability that Houdini would be envious of.

sex during ovulation = high risk of pregnancy! The amt. of semen doesn't matter, it just takes one sperm to fertilize an egg! Even if you didn't ejaculate inside her, pre-ejaculate can still contain sperm and there's always the possiblity that you didn't get all the semen off before you "continued". There's always a risk of pregnancy when you have sex, women don't necessarily ovulate at the same time each month and sperm can also live in a woman's body for several days. So even if your girlfriend ovulates on day 14 and you have sex on day 10, she could still get pregnant. If she's not pregnant, BE CAREFUL from now on if you continue to have sex. And even if she gets on birth control or you use condoms (or both), there's still a chance of pregnancy, no birth control method is 100% effective. If you aren't prepared to have a baby, don't have sex!

What are they teaching in public schools? It only takes a single sperm to knock her up. The millions are just for better odds. And the withdrawl method is the least successful of all kinds of birth control. Sperm even travel in the lubricating fluid you secrete during sex, not just in ejaculate. And the withdrawl method doesn't protect you from diseases, either. Stop being cheap and buy some condoms. Or have her go on the pill and use condoms too. You need to keep yourself straight. God forbid that you make a mistake that brings someone else into this world, or takes you out of it.

One cell is all it takes.

However, the fewer the cells (and the liquid they travels in),
the less likely the pregnancy.

For reasons of evolution, the womb is actually a pretty hostile
place to sperm - the idea being that only the strong actually
get to fertilize the egg.

To some degree, we have-counter evolved to produce
sperm that actually "cooperate" with each other to breech
the defenses.

It is an endless game of ploy and counter ploy, just as
love and sex are on a larger scale are.

Long and the short of it: One cell could theoretically do it
but if you cleaned yourself the likelihood drops substantially.
And of course, the likelihood that you would have impregnated
her with just a normal "release" isn't 100%.

Never-the-less, do not play Russian Roulette. Eventually,
even if not now, somebody's going to get hurt.

Are you stuck on stupid?

ONE swimmer can do the job. What the HELL were you thinking having unprotected sex. Do you WANT to be a father right now? Do you have a job to pay child support?

USE A D@MN CONDOM!!!

Even pre-ejaculate has sperm in it. Did ya sleep through sex ed class??

And you wonder why everyone thinks teens aren't capable of making good choices for themselves?

Withdrawing is a risky form of birth control. Doctors do not recommend it because:

* it's easy to fail to withdraw early enough

* there may be sperms present in the 'dew drop' of fluid that a man produces when he is excited, but well before he actually ejaculates.

Sometimes the smegma (the clear fluid that emerges before ejaculation) contains enough sperms to impregnate. You should have been very very careful when you copulated. Anyway, the dye is cast and you'll have to wait for the consequences of your deed.

That is likely to get her pregnant. Not just possible, but likely. It would take two or three pages to explain why and I'm just too lazy to do that. If you want to know more, pick up one of those books on natural family planning and read it.

It only takes one little drop or less, 1/2 drop or 1/4 drop, it just depends if it get inside there high enough to get to the egg.
