Can an essay have more than three body paragraphs?

Yes, in fact, most teachers would expect more than three. You would usually have your introduction in the first paragraph and your conclusion in the last paragraph. Obviously the middle paragraph will have your points so unless you have only three points for the whole essay, you would usually have more than three parargraphs per essay. Most essay woulh have at least five poin ts. : )

Yes. Most definitely. Just ensure that each paragraph contains a complete concept and that you aren't just filling the paper with more paragraphs that don't matter. I have noticed that you have a lot of questions about writing. Don't your teachers give you instructions or guidelines. Are you in over your head at school? What college do you go to?

In fact, i, personally, shun the concept of the 5 paragraph essay (opening, 3 body paragraphs, conclusion). I find it dry and restrictive.
