While learning Farsi, professionally, I, as well as my classmates used Google Translate. BUT, never translate sentences. They will not translate appropriately, according to real Persian grammatical syntax. Just translate words. For the most part, they can translate present/past/future tenses, correctly. You'll have to figure out the grammar yourself, or from a learned teacher. It is quite a bit different from English.

Try typing the word or phrase in google or yahoo search. Other than that, I don't really know any good source for translating Farsi. Sorry.

If you search the web you can find digital translation dictionaries (programs that can translate words from farsi to english) for between $50 and $300.
