Vive la difference!!
Oh to be pale and interesting.....
Let everyone else be the sheep, I want to be a unicorn!!
Society has made it so that we all should conform....
That way we'd be easier to control!
Give me the ones who are different... interesting... breakaways!!
If there are 6 billion people on planet earth at present, why do only the original, avantgarde, couldnt-care-less ones always make the Sunday papers.... because they revel in being unique!!
These type of people are mostly creative, they are ones in a million and you only have to think of Past Great Different Ones, like Van Gogh.... now there was determination to be who he was!
Like I said in the first instance, "Vive la difference"!!

Growing up demands you to become indifferent about your creativeness, I've noticed. When I was 15, I regularly performed on-stage with poetry, I wrote theatre texts, I made intricate drawings and I was part of an artists collective - on a school already very creative, open and free-thinking. When I was 25, I had become a callcentre agent, working 40 hours a week. I had studied journalism, but noticed creative writing wasn't allowed there either. When I drew, I noticed I couldn't do it anymore. When I wrote, I hadn't lost my touch, but I lacked inspiration - I often just had a beer, a chat, a bit of telly and then sleep when I was home. Life was all about making money, paying rent and other bills, saving up for holidays maybe, but without time or energy for me, arts or even love.
And now that I'm 28 I'm sick of that, so I've joined a political party where thinking out loud is celebrated - I've started drawing and writing again, cut down my working hours and moved to a cheaper place to live. I now intend to finish two novels before I hit 30, write and perform in the theatre again and become myself once more. It's a struggle though. Whatever path you're on, when you turn 18 you're almost forced off the road. So to any young creative mind out there, my advise is to always avoid 'adjusting to society', nevermind what parents, teachers and employers tell you. Becoming a responsible adult is a natural process, so stay on that path you chose - especially if you don't know if it's a path at all.

I sometimes feel like I really fit into a group, and then other times I can feel on the outside of the same group, it all depends on the group and how well I know the people.
I can enter a strange new group and take control and feel the centre of attention as I make it that way, or I can be a meek stranger in the corner waiting to be noticed and invited into the group.
With the wind I can be blown or against it I can stand, wherever it takes me I will go.
But everyone will feel out of it every now and then, that is life, it is up to you to accept your position or to find a new more enjoyable spot, being a pussycat you must prefare being in the window and looking out when it rains, but when it is dry you will be out to play again. That is the way

There is a place for everyone in this world. You just haven't yet found the hole you fit in. You can't be that different to everyone else - I am assuming you only have one head and one mouth. If you haven't then I can think of some really good posisitons you could get into.

My favorite kind of question lol - opinion!
Hmm I guess I can say the same for myself. Due to experiences I've had early in my life I feel like I'm smarter than most people my age; not academically, just altogether smarter lol. I feel like I know more about the "real world" than them. Call me selfish but that's just how I feel.
But it's good to be different. Everybody's different in their own ways, technically speaking, but when it comes down to it usually people just conform to little cliques and act like every other person in that group. It gets boring to see that after awhile - think of how much more fun they'd be having if they all just acted like themselves and not some magazine image that's layed out for them!
Anyway I can't think of much more to say so I should stop ranting now lol.
:)

Oh boy! Do I ever. I dance like I have eight left feet.
I grew up in a musical family, determined not to be musical, so I learned recorder.
Because my family all spoke music, English is still a second language for me.

I would be disappointed if life shaved the edges off my square. I do not want to fall in the round hole;I want to rise above it.

Of course, just look at me?
Yes, artists are different. Unless you are with another artist,
who are easier to relate with.
