what you should do is....
1. BE YOURSELF! that is the best thing that you can be
2. don't listen to the crap that goes around in schools....the majority of what is said is said by people that are jealous of you....or the person that has been made the subject.
3. don't only want to be friends with certain people...try to be friends with everyone. not everyone will accept you, but at least you can say that you've tried.
4. be involved with different clubs, organizations, or activities. this gives you more opportunities to meet new people and be friends with more people.
as far as makeup and stuff...you can always experiment to see what YOU like the best. whatever makes YOU comfortable with YOU, is the best....don't try to be anything or anyone you're not. you will only get negative results if you do.
good luck in high school! i promise, if you stay true to yourself, you'll be just fine!!

Surviving is easy.... thriving is the tricky part. I will be a senior this year, and I can tell you that the best way to thrive despite the gossip and drama going on around you is to basically ignore it. Listen to your friends when they need you to lend an ear, but don't spread any gossip yourself. And drama? It is essential to learn to identify when something is NOT YOUR PROBLEM. Then, stay away from it. These can be the best years of your life. Just always remember that life will go on, and little high school drama problems won't matter later in life.
About making friends? My recommendation is to be as friendly as you can be. Wave to everyone, smile and say hello. I know there are always certain groups that people get into, but if you make it clear that you are cool with EVERYONE, then you will find that everyone will want to be your friend. It's better to be friends with people in all the groups than miss out on making an awesome friend by sticking with only one group. Your next best friends could be anywhere!
Fashion advice: your smile is your best and most important accessory. As for clothing, wear what makes you feel comfortable and happy. When you think you look good, you feel good; and when you feel good, you are confident; and when you are confident, you look beautiful to everyone. I used to be shy. Then I heard that it sometimes works to pretend that you are confident. It worked for me! Hold your head high, smile, and always look like you know what you're doing. Soon you really will be that confident.
I can't give you much hair and makeup advice, because I don't really know what you look like, but as I said, make sure that YOU like the way you look. Try a different hairstyle every day to see what you like. But don't overload the makeup. A little goes a long way.
Good luck in high school!!!

From the way you described yourself you won't have any problem fitting in with the other kids. Be yourself and just act natural, nobody likes a fake. Remember, your there for an education not a popularity contest. Join clubs, these are always good ways to meet the other students and find out who you have something in common with. Where what makes you comfortable and don't try to be somebody else. If you don't do anything for anyone to gossip about then they'll have no reason to gossip about you. Make sure you only listen to the gossip and not comment, sometimes people can twist your words and blame all of the gossip on you. Be careful and good luck.

High school isn't what people say it is. I was a freshman last year and I had the best time of my life. Just remember to be yourself and dont try to impress everyone else by being the person you think they want you to be. You sound like a gorgeous girl. I like leaving my make up pretty simple that way you dont look like someone your not. If you need any help or anything you can always email me i'll be happy to talk to you. You'll have a blast in highschool and don't worry about what others think.

well firstly i come from a fairly small high school also. but no matter how small your highschool is there is going to be drama and gossip and all that jazz. you can't avoid it...so just ignore it.
for fashion..i'm not a fashinable person...haha..i wear jeans and band dirt shirts...i would say just be yourself..dress and wear makup and do your hair however you want...just don't worry about what other people say..kuz if you do...it will make high school more miserable then what it already is. even though high school can suck most the time...make the most of it..your only there for 3 years.
high school for me is a place to have fun and get in trouble..before it's to late.. oh yeah and learn.

I know how you feel. I went to a high school of barely 500 kids. Always stand up for yourself. Keep your head held high and never ever let anyone ever get you down. If anyone tries to hurt your feelings, just laugh at them. Never let them see that what they said hurt you, if that happens. Laugh and enjoy high school. It will go by so quickly.
Never spread rumors in a school that small, it will only come back to you. Get your drivers license as soon as you can so you can drive to bigger towns and meet more people. Pick good friends who share your same beliefs and interests and NEVER EVER give in to drinking or smoking or any kinds of drugs. Life is just too short and your health is so important. :)
As for fashion... look like you just came back from a beach vacation! Pair a long layered skirt with a fun tank or top and fun beach accessories. Check out www.breezybeachwear.com for cute clothes and accessories that won't cost you much and will be delivered straight to your home.

Education should be your priority. While being accepted by other people is an awesome thing, remember why you are there for another reason: getting ready for the rest of your life. Be friendly to everyone, but don't get too close. There needs to be good balance in your relationships and try your hardest to be accepting of other people as well. Don't be mean to the gay, gothic, or emo kid(s), but don't be especially nice because then they will talk to you and then the preps will hate you and never look at you. Remember to not be ashamed of your friends and to be brave. Good luck as a freshman!

i went to a very small high school as well and i would say be friendly to everyone and you should be fine. But remember that you are there to learn first. You may not think grades matter but when ur filling out ur college applications you'll want to be proud of ur accomplishments. Hope this helps and good luck

Im going into 10th grade and i was nervous for high school too when i first started, but its a breeze. Just dont get into any drama and dont spread rumors, to make new friends just be nice to people and try not to be shy. For fashion tips, if you have long blond hair just straiten it, and you'll be gorgeous!

I think that you'll do fine in a high school that only has 200 kids in it. Just join clubs that u'll feel comfortable in. And before u know it, you'll have tons of new friends! Where I live, there are like 3,000-4,000 kids per high school. Good Luck!:)
