There are nice areas in Summerville, Goose Creek and Ladson. Summerville is the farthest away from Charleston, so you might want to live closer in. Mt. Pleasant is also a great area (close to beaches) as are James Island and West Ashley. All these are closer in. You can do some research on the Internet. Life in Charleston is really, really good with many things to do outside, great restaurants, and many very nice people. I think you'll like it.

It depends on what you are looking for. Some areas have good schools, some on the water... what do you want?
