An Israeli warplane bombed the Palestinian Foreign Ministry early Thursday, collapsing part of the structure and causing widespread damage in the area.

It was Israel's second use of a huge bomb in Gaza City in as many days in its two-week offensive to pressure Palestinian militants to release a captured Israeli soldier. At least 23 Palestinians were killed in Gaza on Wednesday.

The third and fourth floors of the Foreign Ministry were destroyed in the blast that shook the city and damaged houses and vehicles in the area. At least 13 people were injured, all in nearby houses.

This is a complicated problem fueled by hate. A third party will have to step in and intervene to stop them. I don't think the U.S. would be a good idea.

In May 2000, more than 22 years after United Nations Security Counsel Resolution 425 was passed, Israel withdrew its troops from southern Lebanon. Prior to the withdrawal, opposition voices inside Israel were putting high pressure on the Israeli government to withdraw from Lebanon as they saw no valid reason for staying there and having to sustain the Lebanese resistance attacks.

Lebanon had not lived up to its end of the Resolution which called for the Lebanese government to assert its control over the southern region.Lebanon was called on by UN Resolution 1391 of 2002 and urged by UN Resolution 1496 of 2003 to do so.
As a result of Lebanon's inability to assert control of the region, Hezbollah, funded by Iran holds de facto sovereignty over much of South Lebanon.Since Israels withdraw attacks have from time to time come from southern Lebanon.Hezbollah in attempting to one up Hamas, kidnapped and killed Israeli soldiers. The Lebanese government has not addressed the issue ,nor will they as evidenced by 22 years of history on the issue, so the Israelis did it for them

If you ask me the US could be worried about more violence erupting if they were to intervene, seeing as how they are already in Iraq for a bu!!$h!t reason. If you ask me the US just needs to stop telling the world how to do things period, but foreign policy as we know would probably collapse.

USA does not allow Isreal to do anything, they are going to bomb Lebanon with or without anyone's permission, as they should, we merely back them up as they have been our long time ally, personally I hope it goes nuclear.

The answer is that it is Syria and Iran who is allowing Hezbollah to attack Israel. Israel has to take up for itself. That does not mean they should not use restraint. I pray that this stupid conflict ends. I wish you peace.

The US is constantly told to "butt-out" of the middle east, but when something happens you don't like, they are supposed to rush in and fix it? You can not have it both ways!
