Ryan Newman is a hard racer. He goes all out all of the time. There is nothing wrong with that. Sure he makes mistakes as all of the drivers do. Does he need to calm down at times? Certainly he does, but he isn't a crappy driver.

I've never understood how he can consistently qualify so well and have so little to show for it. A couple of years ago I thought Newman would have 40 wins and a championship by now. Now I just wonder how long Penske will keep him on. He's clearly got talent but there is something in the package that's missing.

i wouldn't call him crappy. he hasn't had as much success as the other dodge drivers (kasey to be specific) but that isn't his fault completely. Everham has spent more time working on the charger while penske was holding on to the intrepid last year. i think if penske gets it's stuff together with the charger we will see a turn around.
moreover, racing is a sport of ups and downs. he may not be having a fantastic season this year, or last, but next year may be completely different.

"CRAPPY"?? I think you need to check out his record win/lost,, he's won some races,,just like all GOOD drivers,,he's having a bad time right now,,,ever heard of bad equipment? not the drivers fault!
And for ole' smoke's fan,,,,you hate it when people come down on Tony Stewart,,,,you need to start reading what you are saying about other drivers YOU put down!!

He's not really a crappy driver He is just extremely self centered and doesnt care about anyone else on the field.

Races great on Quals day & sucks on Sunday.
He's not crappy, but I'd like him to get a head shrink like Tony Sorprano and talk about it. Maybe it would help?

hes not really a crappy driver otherwise he wouldn't have made it to the nascar circuit. i don't really like him as a driver but hey we all have our own opinions.
