Depression is mostly caused by loneliness. You can beat depression by developing a large circle of good friends.Sharing happiness or sorrow will keep mind cool.Hobbies, listening music, reading books help beat depression.Do not keep mind brooding on one thing, let it enjoy.Coffee and tea are harmless depressant.Cultivate habit of positive thinking. If you try you can beat depression without doctor's help.I am sure. You have the will power.Good Luck

Exercise, and no excuses why you can't. Exercise increases endorphine production, the body's natural mood enhancer. In this hot summer drink as much fruit juice and water as you can hold ... dehydration drains the body and the spirit. and E-mail me ... i've battled depression all my life without the help of prescription drugs ... not an easy road, but worth it.

Besides, what did people do for thousands upon thousands of years before the advent of anti-depressants? They survived it. Why is it that we have more things available to us than at any point in history yet more and people suffer from depression? Just a point to ponder.

oh wow, this is tough

but possible. I had to get help a few times, was one meds three times, but now after having pulled myself off it again, I'm doing great. If your like me (to proud or too stubborn) you have to use that energy to push through it. Have someone you can talk to about it. AND TALK TO THEM!!!

find creative outlets for yourself, what do you like to do? 30 minutes of moderate exercise I think like 3-5 days a week has now been discovered to be a cured for lowto moderate depression. Try this out, and keep a log of hwo you feel. Reading always helped me out, and music sin't a bad bet either.

best of luck.

I`ve read the answers you got and they are mostly good. Some better than others.Depression is caused mainly by a chemical imbalance. There is a herbal remedy that can help. Masculine/Feminine herbal complex depending on your sex.A complete multivitamin/mineral supplement.A complete protein supplement(make sure it contains 22 amino acids).High quality Omega-3.This is the most important products you should use to help try and restore the chemical imbalance in your brain. Then find friends and uplifting past times. They will be worth their weight in gold.

Depression is chemical, caused by environmental or genetic factors. If there is something lacking in your life thats making you feel down, try talking with friends about what you need and can do differently. If the depression is chronic, life is so much better once the decease is treated.

Get rid of everything in your life that brings you down. If it's a relationship, end it. If it's a job, look for a new one. I had taken anti-depressants for 19 years, and for the past year, have taken nothing, and I have taken steps to improve MY life. You have to look out for number one, cause no one else will.

My depression is from a chemical imbalance, so the situation won't matter. I was on some meds till I left the Army and now the VA won't cover it.
