This is a big loss, and you will go through a grieving period. Don't give up... you WILL come through this, and you'll be stronger and better. I know it's really hard to believe that, because your heart is hurting so badly right now. But that is exactly why you don't want to listen to your heart, you want to listen to your head, and you know in your head that you will get through this and be happy again.
And I would definitely advise AGAINST dating anyone else right now. It's hard enough for two healthy, whole people who are not suffering a loss to sustain a good, healthy relationship... dating while you are broken is like putting sugar instead of gas into a gas tank... it can't go anywhere.
This is the perfect time to talk to God, because it's a great opportunity for Him to show you how much He loves you. Please give Him the chance to comfort you... you will be eternally glad you did.

anytime a relationship ends, people experience the same emotions that they experience with a death. It is perfectly normal for you to be mourning the loss. If it becomes unbearable or interupts your normal activities, you should seek help from your Doctor. Some times the aid of an anti-depressant is necessary to get through it and get your life back on track. Your Doctor might also be able to suggest a good counselor to help you.

You probably have many unresolved feelings and/or issues. You could go to some sort of support group or your church and find someone just to talk to. You have value and someone wants you just the way you are. I am newly remarried after divorce of 18 year marraige.
Have you heard the song "She let herself go"...it's a country song and sounds like it would suit you to just let go and focus on YOU for awhile.
Good luck.

You may be falling into a depression, it's not uncommon at all. Especially if your feelings of sadness persist for multiple weeks and you can't seem to snap out of it. Talk to your doctor about it, he can help. It's a serious sickness that can be helped.
