The silver foilized side is better since it is more reflective. Even though white is the reflection of all colors, it does not reflect UV rays as well as silver would. Use the white side on colder days to protect the vinyl and plastic of your dash panel, but not keep the car from heating.

With most modern cars, the plastics will not fade, but with an older or classic car, this would be an issue.
