i need help with the connections cuz i dont know how to can anyone tell me? thanxx

you need to buy a network adapter and a game that support online play Plus you will need a DSL or broadband service provider.
If you have the current PS2 model (the slim one), then you can kiss online play bye bye.. The new system doesn't support online gaming.
My advise is to wait on PS3 (i think they have a built in network adapter).

It'd help if we knew which version of the PS2 you have...The original or the redesigned version which has wireless networking capability. Also, what startup disc do you have?
But since I don't know any of this, I'll give some 'in-general' directions:
Get an ethernet cable, plug into modem or phone line, plug other end into PS2.
You may or may not need to get an extra piece of equipment for the ethernet cable to plug into, but I don't know for sure as I have an XBOX.

well first to connest to the internet u need a wirless router somewhere thats conneted
then from there go to a site and play there
if u have a game that connets online to play other players do thats also the game should tell u how to do that
