Once Shoppenhauer was anoyed at a women who was chattering outside his appartment to a neighbor, so he came out and threw her down the stairs. She sued him and he had to pay a monthy amount for her health care. I do not think any more of his ideas than I think of the man himself. He is not one of those philosophers who is believed to practice what he preaches.

On the other hand I met someone once who loved Shoppenhauer's ideas. I do like that some of his material is drawn from Indian philosophy.

I do believe the will is a prime universal but I do not get that from Shoppenhr. But I believe all prime universals are good; though mankind is basically sinful, there is also imputed much good into most of us.
