Your thinking plays a large part in how long you live. If you are pessimistic, you might get 50 or 60 years. But if you are optimistic, you have a very good chance at a hunderd years of life. Your mind is a very powerful thing.

There is no guarantee, but you are right about helping yourself with a good diet and exercise.
Depending on how old you are now, it is possible that science will come up with some innovative way to halt the aging process and extend people's lives before it is too late for you.
One thing that has often occured to me is that society needs the regeneration of new people with the older ones passing on. Where would everyone live and how would we live if no one ever died?

Besides eating right and exercising? Wow, I don't really know......maybe luck? Oh I know.........It's not wondering how you can live to be that old. :) If you really want to be alive when a nurse has to change your diaper then, by all means, go ahead. But I'd rather focus on the next day than decades from now.

Wearing your seatbelt and driving defensively, seeing a doctor regularly, managing stress creatively, not smoking, not doing drugs, drinking alcohol only moderately, surrounding yourself with family and friends, having children, and in general having a calm and positive attitude.

None of those I know (grandmother and great aunt) who lived to be 100 did either, they had lots of kids, ate, drank, smoked and just took care of their families. I think alot of it comes from genetics.
