i think i will be alone here but i won't say 100% because different people value different things to different extents. for example, if i am a woman who just wants to be taken care of financially i can be honestly happy and successfully married as long as that need of mine is met and what he does when i'm not looking may not matter to me at all. granted this isn't a good basis for a marriage but relationships come in all different forms and they work to the extent that they meet the needs of both of the people involved, whatever those needs might be.
i also think that 'trust' is a very misunderstood thing, some people actually believe it is about someone else and it isn't, not even a little bit. trust is about trusting yourself to be able to handle whatever comes up, you can never control what someone else will do (not for a minute, let alone a lifetime), and in certain situations even the best people are capable of bad things. so to sit back and say my marriage will work because i have 100% faith that my partner will never do anything to hurt me makes you a fool and fools don't usually fair well in real life. thats fairy tale stuff and not reality. so, in my opinion, trust is all about knowing that you will be ok whatever happens, you will not become so completely lost in another person that you won't survive without them, and in that respect its important to a successful relationship. becoming completely immersed in another person creates disappointment in yourself and is too much pressure for the other to take. i hope this made sense.

Without trust there can be no successful marriage. The marriage can exist but will forever be harmed if there is a basic lack of trust on either partner.

100% When you have respect you have trust. When you have pure love, you have trust. It is a 100% for a successful marriage.

i wouldnt say 100% like everyone else a lot of people have successful marriages because they are rich or they are doing it for the children so probably like 87.3% of marriages are based on trust.
