Seriously...The Repbulic of Ireland is doing marvelous without the Brittish occupation forces.
"Free Ireland" has economic independance and has held free elections for years. They've even had two female presidents!!! (put that in yer pipe and smoke it, America). Southern Ireland or Free Ireland is doing fine. Maybe the Brits should just go home.

When the Irish quit fighting amongst themselves... and it would appear that elements of the IRA and "protestant (orange) factions" don't want that to happen, as it would mean they'd have to look for legitimate work or conventional jobs... it is much easier to agitate the masses and get your "power & utilities" paid that way: Both groups should elect new and fresh leadership that has not been immersed into the rigid thinking of yesteryear, but what is the likelyhood of that happening? This goes to prove that we - individually AND collectively, ar our own worst enemies! We shoot ourselves in the foot at every given chance! OW! "My Left Foot!"

When the Irish collect enough brain cells together to realise they should find a way to live in peace.

England would pull out in the morning if peace could be achieved but the thugs and criminals of the IRA and protestant paramilitarities would loose too much money and power to allow it.

Should they? I would leave this matter to the Irish. Let us hope that Northern Ireland will work to reunite their brethren and work for Peace. They should continue to build their positive relationship and representation in the English Parliament, so that a permanent peace can be found.
