It's probably not fair to the animals, no. But then, life itself isn't fair. As non-humans, they're much lower on the priority scale than the needs of other humans are.

Nope....their bodies don't function like ours and even the FDA has said that experiments on mice, rats, etc. are not accurate because their biological systems aren't the same as humans. There are other ways to experiment and with the technology we have today another animal should not have to tortured in the name of "progress".

If you mean is it OK to use animals to search for alleviations and cures to human diseases, the answer is emphatically YES!
Man was given dominion over the lower animals by God. This means that man has the authority to use animals as he sees fit - not to abuse them, but if using an animal can alleviate human suffering, then it is perfectly alright.

Well, way back when it was the decent thing to do, because of human rights etc and we wouldn't have had all the medical advances without them...
But I think experiments should be done on prisoner's that are in for murder, rape and child molestation. They took away someone else's rights so they should have none, right?

One has to be realistic, for the most part, mos peole love animals and dont want to hurt them, but in order to help poeple some sacrifices have to be made, no one anywhere on the face of the earth can change that.

Of course it's not fair. But it is necessary. Unless you'd like to volunteer for the study of experimental drugs...I know I wouldn't.
My heart bleeds for Pongo the kitten with hepatitis, but I'd rather Pongo gets it than my kids.

Sadly, sometimes it has to be done. I don't agree in using animals for testing other than those having to do with medicine, and testing that isn't cruel to the animal

yes and no.
animals don't have a say in what we do. why should we go around hurting them when it's not in our hands?
on the other hand, it seems inhuman to perform experiments on other humans!
