If your language is set to English, you can always use the Character Map to copy and paste the Spanish characters into your documents.
You can find the Character Map by: Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Character Map (assuming you have Window XP Media center edition)

at least in my computer is Alt+164 and the ñ capitalized is Alt+165. Try in in your computer.
