I certainly hope so. Those people who currently see this as a women's issue are certainly deceived. It is an issue of basic human decency. Unborn children are human beings who need our protection just as a baby who has been born. Unwanted babies maybe even more so because they have to be protected from the one person who should be their most fervent protector, their mothers.

Japan not only didn't bring any animosity towards the Jews, it was the Japanese Ambassasdor to Russia during WWII, Chiune Sugihara who is credited with saving many Jewish lives and is honored with a statue in Israel. The Japanese actually offered the Jewish people land in mongolia to form there own nation. Besides, the whole beginnig of your question implies that abortion is an act of irrational hate like these others.
So not only do you not have your facts straight, but your question is both implicitly (above) and explicitly invalid (look up "begging the question"). Explicitly when you assume a fetus is an unborn "child" and base your question around that assumption. If it is actually demonstrated that a fetus is indeed alive in a way which distinguishes from, say, a tumor, then no sane person would support abortion. Also, be careful here not to argue that "a fetus has the potential to be human", unless you are prepared to call masterbation and many forms of fertitily treatment murder. Does a woman who has an egg removed and frozen commit the same act as one who puts a child in the freezer? Evidence is the key here.

The various views on abortion are quite curious. Here's a few to take a look at.
1. "It's not right for me, but I can't make that choice for someone else."
These seem to be people that don't know the difference between objective truth and subjective truth. It's like saying "Personally I like chocolate ice cream, but if you like vanilla that your choice." That's subjective truth. But carrying that over into abortion is crazy. "Personally I wouldn't kill an innocent person, but if you want to kill a innocent person that's fine. I'm not in your situation, who am I to judge." Easy to say when your safely outside the womb.
2. Then there's the "What if you were raped?" argument. Then my desire to kill an innocent person for my own benefit may increase. The level of my desire to do something doesn't determine whether it's right or wrong.
3. "Women should have control over there own bodies". Yes, but not over someone else's. If you check every cell of a woman's body, her DNA is the same throughout. If you then check the DNA of a fetus, the DNA is not the same as the mother. Why? Because it's not part of her body. If you let that fetus be born and check the DNA of the baby and compare it to the DNA of the fetus...it's identical. Why? Because the fetus and the baby are the same person.
4. "The baby would have a bad life anyway." Really? How do you know that? A lot of people have been born in horrible circumstances and come out of it and had great lives. At least give them a chance. If you don't want people to live bad lives, why not kill people that are already having terrible lives. Oh, because when you ask them, most of them don't want you to kill them?
5. "If the fetus can't live outside the womb, it's not really alive." It's not supposed to be outside the womb yet. What if you were sent to the planet Jupiter. You wouldn't be able to survive in that environment either. Does that mean your not really alive? The difference is, give a fetus 9 months and it will be ready to live on earth. You'll never be ready to live on Jupiter.
There's a lot of other arguments that are equally absurd.
To answer your question....maybe...but it's a long way off. Most people aren't ready to be honest with themselves about what abortion really is.

Before you lecture us on abortion, work on making sure every BORN child has a top notch education, a full belly and doesnt have to worry about being molested, abused or bullied.
Abortion is here to stay, legal or not. I assure you you are friends with several people who have has abortions, or whose partners have. Get off your moral high horse and go adopt some of those black crack babies who will spend a lifetime in the foster care. Or go counsel the 13 year old who gets bullied by her boyfriend into having sex, and gets stuck with a pregnancy, while he goes back to d!cking everything he can. Better yet, why dont you run for president and tell everyone how pious you are, while at the same time, eliminating virtually every social program that might help solve the problems.
Anti-Choice Folks, you've lost this war. Go rally round a different flag.

You can not compare a zygote to a person, any more than you can compare an ameoba to a person.
I think as we continue you will find more of this sort of thing. I think people will be able to end their own lives when they choose - particularly the aged and infirm (and I think the Insurance companies would support this one if done right). I think there will be a court ruling that determines when human life begins, and from that point on they receive rights (and I don't think it will be conception as the ruling).
The decision to have children is a choice and it is not a choice that anyone takes lightly - but accidents happen. For the most part it is a sobering experience, but it doesn't have to be the life changing decision it once was.
Abortion is not right for all women, but it is a true life saver for some and it should always be an option.
Peace!

What do you mean many nations? Do you know of any nations where abortions don't take place? If abortion is a shame, it is a shame of mankind, not specific nations. I personnally think abortion is one of the worst cases of murder. But I hope you don't divide the nations where it is illegal and those where it is legal, because in the first the only thing that is different is that the abortions happen under worse life-threathening conditions. If maternal love or fear of the procedure doesn't stop someone from this horrible thing, law won't make a difference.

Infanticide will continue to happen. It's a part of human nature. It would take thousands of years for us to give it up. I view unborn children as human. I know that abortion is murder, but it is an acceptable murder. Abortion prevents the child from being born and left to die in a more painful way. The pain they experience from an abortion is very temporary. I also believe in reincarnation, so it is not the utter destruction of a person to kill him or her.

Nice try but you cannot equate these things. You need to get your nose out of private business between a woman, her man and her God. You have no business forcing women to go back to backroom abortions, Because believe me, women have always managed and always will. The only difference now is that they are safe. Of course , if you actually value life then maybe you should be more open to birth control. The morning after pill BEFORE anything becomes anything. You can't have it both ways!! Sorry

No. It will be an option of the present and future. It is the law of the land. Fetuses are less than human.
Abortion whether legal or illegal will always be with us as long as men and women have unprotected sex and there is a demand for it.

I hope that abortion on demand will be a thing of the past soon. Its nothing less that those who sacrificed babies in the old testament. People sacrifice babies to the god of self now, in the name of pro choice and convenience.
