Well if everytime someone even looks wrong at an animal (even if the animal deserved it) we whack them across the back of the head with a 2x4 then I guess that people would treat animals with respect, love, and dignity.
Other than that I doubt anything will change people.

Besides what is already being done, people only change when they decide to change. People are going to treat animal badly for years to come no matter what, the reason being there is no system anywhereto teach evey single human being. However, in a small scale, you can organize clinics within your community of the community you want to affect.

Education is the key and it must start at a young age. This should be a section taught in school starting from the very beginning. Then, they need personal experiences with lots of different animals, showing them how special they all are....including livestock animals.

You can't MAKE people respect, love, or act with dignity. That's pretty much the whole point. People are de-evolving, and there's nothing we can do about it.

Most people will. Don't even try to judge the ignorant. Encourage people to take good care of their animals.

Well, if the truth was known (the truth being that animals, no matter what their linguistic skills are, still have souls), then animals would not be abused so much. Then again, if the truth was known, many things would be better.

Offenders should be doused with A-1 steak sauce and locked in a cage with a Siberian tiger for a weekend.

Nothing. People are who they are. If they can't treat other humans this way, why would they treat animals?
