Some Walmarts do accept food stamps for food only purchases. You would need to check with the Walmart in question as each one is different.

Capitalism is just another word for communism. Jeanne Dixon predicted that the U.S. would become more like Russia and vice-versa and it is happening. It is all about greed at the top. Pure greed. Where they move in with super low prices, they drive out competition and then the price will probably go up to higher, normal levels. WM is the devil incarnate. How can you explain that??? It is what it is. Not sure what happened with the stealing you speak of? They keep us under their thumb on the brink of destitution. We have $3000 deductible insurance with a once a year doctor checkup (covered if you are well only with no tests covered mostly) and a once a year gyno visit and mammogram (and they fight paying for the mammogram if you had cancer and a mastectomy and chemo more than 7 years ago and were cured). The only thing the insurance does is let them know who has a past medical condition (by getting ahold of your medical files when you file a claim). Then they could make sure you quit or get fired before they have to pay out anything major. The insurance company only administers (not pays) the claims that are paid out by WM in self-insurance. Therefore, you can't report an unfair refusal to pay a claim to the state insurance board, you have to go to a federal labor board or similar to complain. And of course you can appeal the denial to the WM claims board. They know all the tricks of the trade. Part timers don't get vacation for 2 years, then they get one week. Full timers (often related to managers) get vacation of 2 weeks after 1 year. You assume as part time you get a vacation after one year, and they don't tell you this until you ask about it after the year is up. Dental insurance and sick pay go only to full timers and even then you have to earn sick pay through hours worked once full time and dental insurance is a 6 month wait after being made full time (even if part time for a long time) and major dental stuff is not covered for 2 years is what I heard. The people at the top and a lot of the full timers are related I think. It seems to be who is related to the managers gets ahead (made full time from the start and maybe more money, etc). The rest of us get the slim pickings at the bottom of the barrel. Thank god for food stamps, food pantries, thrift stores and dumpster diving. I can't afford much even at my own store where I work. Maybe some 28 cent Ramen noodles for lunch. Try to start a union there and the full time relatives of the managers will make sure that never happens. They never let us know each others' last names. They only put the first 3 letters of the last names on the schedule so that you can't easily form a union (or even call each other if you want to if fired or quit or sick). They make sure that you don't know easily the hours or schedule of the people in your department, because the schedule is alphabetical and for the whole store and all three shifts mixed together. So some people are hired right away full time (usually young men who will be paying into the insurance and never using it).

RE:
Is it true you can use Food Stamps in a Wal-Mart store?

Yes, & in California, most Rite-Aid stores take them too. We no longer use food stamps, the program has switched to a debit card with the food stamp "money" allowance on the same card as your welfare cash. We can use this card (if approved) anywhere in the State of California & it has cut down on food stamp theft, but not on people who abuse the system. Many stores have people with debit cards walking around & asking the cash paying customers if they'd like to "trade" their cash for free groceries. It is really a pain in the a s s & highly illegal!

Yes you may use food stamps at the WAL-MART if you have a card that you swipe to use it most places will accept it as well such as convient stores, Walgreens, and other stores.
