You can go to the hospital and tell them you need help admitting someone who is suicidal. They can send the police to pick him up . It might sound really rude , but at least it will keep him alive for a week and get him the right medicine to help him get straight, and a doctor to talk to. This would be for a worst case senario. Also, you can go to "Catholic Charities" (You don't have to be catholic) call them , ask them to get a therapist to call him on the phone and ask if he will come talk to them. They will do the therapy for very little money($5-$10). Best of Luck.

oh wow-- that's really scary, but i've been in your same shoes. she needs to calm her boyfriend down and really find out the root of his problem(s) and why he says such things. these things are to NEVER be taken lightly and that's a given, but really encourage your friend to spend as much time as she can with him and to talk to him and find out what's going on.
she should also find out if her man is just saying this to get attention (which is NOT funny and he should stop now) or if he TRULY feels like ridding of himself. if he is honest in what he feels, she needs to encourage him to seek professional help. she shouldn't go behind is back and tell his rents or something because that can make things worse. she needs to talk too him and tell him that he needs to get help-- and if he keeps saying no, then she needs to tell HIM that SHE will tell someone if he doesn't get help, so if she does have to resort too that, he'll be ready for it.
i really hope everything works out for you guys!! good luck sweetie!

Call 1-800-SUICIDE
It is the National Suicide Prevention Hotline. Give the number to your friend and tell her to call. They can tell you how to help your friend and they can talk to your friend and her boyfriend.
Always, always take talk of suicide seriously!
Also, I do not know how old these people are, but you may need to intervene by contacting their parents and telling them. If they are reaching out to you, they want help.

professional help, send him into a center that deals with depression and suicide prevention, get her to sign to release him into the facility and there will be professionals there who will help him, and evaluate him on a daily basis and counselors who he can talk to....

Tell her to call his parents. i know that seems like a betrayal but it is for his own good. If you can't talk to his parents tell another adult that he trusts. You really don't have any other choice.....
