On the interent it says you need one-two basic courses in biology and one-two basic courses in chemistry to become an peditrician what does that mean?

100 level (freshmen) classes.

They probably want 3 semester hours in each area. If your college used quarters, they probably are wanting 2 classes each.

Lots of degrees require 2 classes in Chemistry as a minimum. Surely Pre Med needs at least 2 semesters of Biology. So you will need to take 2 semesters of each. Maybe something like 101, 102 with the lab as well.

That means you can choose to take one or two courses in biology OR one or two courses in chemistry. Those are two separate tracks.
