Its Eve, not Eva. Have you ever heard of incest? That's the only logical answer if one believes the Garden of Eden fairy tale.
Life evolved elsewhere either through natural selection or via genetic manipulation from a more advanced race, so if the married son didn't do it with mom, who did he do it with? The wife according to the bible came from another land which shoots down the whole Garden of Eden story.
Maybe the other son did it with Mom - think that would have been Abel. Cain was the one who found a wife in another land.
There are so many inconsistencies in the bible that a careful reading of it will create a lot more questions.

Since I've been asking questions similar to this.. oh and by the way it was Adam and EVE, they had a third son Seth mentioned in the bible... but he is not elaborated on as much because of the Cain and Abel incident. But it is pretty much obvious that IF in fact that Adam (and maybe Eve) lived past 900 years... then they probably had many many more children. And please don't get me wrong... I believe they lived a very long time... my mind just has a hard time grasping 900+ years. Of course there wasn't all the disease, pollution, etc. back then so I guess anything is possible.

That is a beautiful question, the only answer is that Adam and Eve weren't the only people around,so god made other people and didn't tell anyone or somebody wanted to keep it a secret, you are in the right track to find the true about some religions. Did you know that there is evidence that there was another woman before Eve? Gen.vers 17

The Bible provides only one answer: Adam "had other sons and daughters" (Genesis 5:4).
Cain married one of his sisters.
While such a marriage would certainly be very wrong today (as God later decreed, see the Fact Finder below), the rules were quite different in the early days of humanity. It wasn't a matter of Cain making a "wrong" choice, since it was his only choice in order to be able to obey God's command for humanity to "be fruitful and multiply" (Genesis 1:28).
In those early times, the defects and disorders that could later possibly occur in children from such marriages, from recessive genes, would not have been as likely, since recessive genes would have had little time to develop. The children could actually have been much healthier than humans are today, as evidenced by the far greater life spans of the earliest humans (e.g. Genesis 5:1-32).
Although Cain and his sister were very closely related, Adam and Eve could be considered even closer. Although Adam and Eve are the ancestors of all subsequent humans, Eve herself was actually created from a part of Adam, in a process that scientists today might call a sort of "cloning" (Adam and Eve were likely quite similar in appearance), so, in a way, genetically, Adam married himself.

First, Cain was exiled from God's presence after killing Abel.
Genesis 4:16 And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.
The very next verse seems to skip a bit forward.
Genesis 4:17 And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch.
Previously the Bible is pretty clear that Cain was exiled alone. So most people assume that his wife came from the land of Nod.
Especially if you look at the creation story not as the creation of the human race but the creation of a specific people, the Hebrews. Then, it's perfectly possible that there are other people, non-Hebrews.
There is an early passage that is used to support this.
Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
It says "let us make man in our own image". So there are other Gods who are creating humans. So some other god made the people of the Land of Nod. So therfore Nod's wife is obviously from a different tribe with different religious beliefs.
But, don't take my word for it. Read the verses yourself, and you decide.

That is a question that is usually glossed over by religious scholars, however, that answer really is that the son married his sister. Adam and Eve had more than two sons, it's just that the eldest two are mentioned and the other sons and daughers are not, until you get the the part of Genesis where it goes on and on about "Adam live to be X years old and begat Y number of children."

Adam and Eve had other brothers and sisters. Obviously Cain's wife came from a close family member--probably a niece. The Bible doesn't specify but remember that Eve was the mother of all living so Cain's wife had to be a relative. While that seems strange, remember that they were very close to perfection and that they lived to be several hundred years old back then.

Adam and Eve had many sons and daughters but only Cain and Able are talked about in the Bible. Cain's wife was his sister and
before you ask, remember the genes pool had not had time to be corrupted by the fall of man. Today marrying your sister would cause many reproducing problems.

Hi, angel cindy04, my name is Hank. The answer is poetic license or author's prerogative. These are some of the "details" we are just supposed to accept, and to merrily skip over them like they don't exist.
Nobody knows where the wife came from. All preachers postulate that it is God's word, and we are not to question the wisdom of God. They can't say Jesus because He hasn't come on the scene, yet.
I believe if our ancestor's would have ask these difficult biblical questions, that have no answers, religion would be a much different topic than what it is now.
Please don't stereotype me as an Atheist for the way I have answered your question. I answer religious questions because they are questions, not to prove or disprove the existence of God. I have no trouble believing in God.
I do have trouble with "the preacher man on t.v." (in the church or wherever he/she is). "He wears a suit a tie and a vest. He asks you to send money to the Lord, but he gives you his address." That's a quote from a Hank Williams, Jr. song. I consider the people doing that as preyers on the pray-ers
No stereotyping, please.

Adam died at 930 years old(Genesis 5: 1-5) he had lots of children during his lifetime, Sons and daughters.
The bible doesn't mention the daughters like it does the sons.
If you read on you will notice how it usually only tells the names of the firstborn sons. then says they became father to sons and daughters. To answer your question Adam and Eve were created perfect and only by sinning did imperfection and death come to be..Romans 5:12. so their sons were closer to perfection then we are today so they were able to marry their sisters in order to start populating the earth without any problems. This was done only to get the population started.
