Definitely transfer somewhere that you do like. However good the school, if you don't like it, you won't learn as much.

The wise, economical choice would be to stay put. Transferring can be not only costly but time-consuming and difficult as well. Transferring colleges is not like going to a new high school. First, you have to accumulate enough credits to transfer. Secondly, even if you do get enough credits, there's no guarantee that those credits will count at the new college or university you choose to attend, so, in essence, you would be starting all over. Subsequently, you will take longer to graduate.
If you dislike your current school because you feel the education you are getting is lackluster, then by all means, leave. However, if you dislike where you're at for reasons such as a lack of activities or something in that regard, I would say grin and bear it. A quality education is key here, and as long as you are receiving it, why leave?

Don't attend a college just because it's a really good school. You have to enjoy attending, otherwise, you'll just waste your time and won't finish. I went to a college for that reason, and because everyone was expecting me to go to this traditional college after high school, since my g.p.a was so high. I hated it! I wasted a lot of time and money, and I didn't even finish. I wound up doing what I wanted in the first place, and I haven't looked back since.

If you just got in, how do you know you hate it? Give it a chance. Good grief! It's still summer, you haven't even started classes yet.
Wait and see; once you get to know a few people there you will likely find it a much more tolerable place.

How is it great if you hate it? You should never be involved in anything that you hate, especially when you have a choice. You will be living that school every day for weeks or months or years.

Go somewhere that you like. College is more than an academic experience. You need to like it to do well. It's just too expensive to go someplace you hate.
