I have the fan motor and plastic cage out. But I cannot get the back screws out of the back of the evaperator cage out.

after the refrigerant is reclaimed you disconnect the large and small pipes at the firewall under the hood [the battery and tray will have to come out for access] remove glove box and you will see 5 bolts with 10mm hex heads [4 gold looking and 1 or 2 black ] remove these and the evaporator case will come out [the expansion valve is inside] so open the case [clips and screws] being mindful of the seal strips cut them with a razor where the case separates you can now access the valve, use new o-rings at all joints and don't forget to replace the dryer [up front near and below the power steering reservoir] re assembly is the reverse of above noting that a dab of black silicone at the evap case seals will prevent annoying whistles.
