I have recently had my nose pierced. I also have both ears pierced. People at work dont seem to care every one is cool with it. I think they are acceptable in the UK. I mean I work as a carer and old people are the most narrow minded people you can meet. They don't have a problem so it must be ok.

Yes, it's just that too much is seen to be a bit weird, unless you are the person who has too much of that. There are a lot more things over here that are acceptable in the UK than in the US, like women's breasts being on show i.e. Page 3 girls. We also allow peadophiles to roam around free as well, doesn't that sound so weird???
Yeah we know it's crazy too.

Beware if you are under 18 and have a fresh tattoo. It is a criminal offense in UK to tattoo a minor (anyone under 18) The Tattooing of Minors Act. If it is indecent, keep it covered up or you might also get arrested..........

In many places yes there are still people who look down on them though mostly the one's that pierce everything

Yeah absolutely! It's art isn't it and also freedom of choice and expression. Not like there's any laws against it, except rules at workplaces about piercings.

Go down Bedminster highstreet in Bristol of a lunchtime and you will quickly see that you are not normal if you DON'T have any tattoos or piercings.

It totally depends on who you ask!! I'm a 37-yr-old gay mum of 3 and have several tattoos, cos I love them... I used to have plenty of piercings too, but got bored with them and took them all out.

alot of 'old' companies prefer their workers not to have pericings and tatoo's.
And some bars still fin dit unaccpetable for staff to have facial piercings and tatoo'd arms
