No he can not. He may act like he has but as soon as the woman goes back to him and does something "wrong" according to him he will start back in his old ways. No woman should have to deal with an abusive man, just forget about him and find someone new.

Someone very important in my life was abusive for over 20 years. Went to counseling, swore he would change, and always reverted back to the abusive behavior. So in my humble opinion, no.

No - I was with with my ex for 15 years - seemed nice to start and thought he was OK but he went back to his old ways but at the time was so in love with him, made excuses for his behaviour. Finally I had enough when he started abusing the kids. Sorry, hope you find happiness soon.

Not always... certain characteristics are hard wired into you from a young age making it resistant to change later in life... even when we do show signs of changing we tend to revert to past behavior... so long story short.. don't count on it.
