to date meaning to hang out with friends (group dating) around thirteen with guys and gals.
For an actual one on one relationship I would lean more towards about 14-15, usually, around this time you get to know more about dating, as well (more importantly) about yourself, which allows you to start understanding what you want in a relationship and in another person

I think teens should be allowed to date between 14 and 16...it s really up to the parent's discretion on the maturity of their child and their own personal views, but I think these are good ages to start with casual or group dating. From there, every situation is different, but I think for the most part kids aren't ready for a real serious relationship until about 18, but there are always exceptions to the rule!

For chaperoned dates, 12-13.
Unchaperoned 14+
I like the idea of a chaperoned date, as this lessens the pressure of unwanted activities, as well as providing a way out if the date turns sour.

Dating depends on levels of maturity. When a person is comfortable with themselves and not in a position to be victimized (physically, emotionally, etc) and can make decisions without acting on impulse, then they are ready for dating.

not until you're at least 21. dating is not just a social device to look good/popular. When you're ready to consider marriage is when you should start dating, and if you're asking this question, then you're definitely NOT ready.
