Call the community college in which you are interested. Ask them what you need to do first.

Develop a goal, a plan of action. Talk to the entering/new student adviser for help in creating your career plan.

Take your basics first, so you won't have too many problems if you later change your major.

You will most likely need to transfer to a four-year college after you finish your associates degree, but make sure you talk to the people at the college--your adviser--who can help you decide what you need to do and when.

Good luck!

One more thing: You can start in whatever semester that is most convenient for you (Fall, Spring, or Summer). Just make sure you have all your paperwork done and are prepared to pay for the tuition and books by either out-of-pocket money, scholarship, or grant.

It depends what college you go to. Most colleges start in late August, but others that are on quarters (like Ohio State University) start in late September.
You can start taking classes at a community college to teach, but you will have to get a 4 year degree to become a teacher at the least. Some states even require that you get a masters to teach. So you would have to transfer from the community college because most only offer 2 year degrees.

My college actually starts August 21, I've already picked my classes and classes are filling up. I would apply as soon as possible, however you may not get the classes you want at the times you want. You could go to a community college but after you would end up having to transfer to a 4 year college. Most community colleges are 2 years, and to be a teacher you need 4 years of college. Call up the college and set up an appointment with an advisor to get you going. Good Luck :)

It is too late to apply to a four year university. But don't fret. Many people prefer to start off at a community college and get their associates degree before heading off to the university for a bachlors degree. Community colleges except applications up until (in most cases) school starts in late August/ early September. Here you can get your core classes out of the way and then transfer to a college that offers an education program. Good luck!

Ok for most people like me, it starts in the beginning of September. You should start enrolling right now. The only way you can find out what college has that major is by finding out at www.cuny.edu. On top it will say teacher academy. Click on it and read on. All you need of course is your H.S Diploma or GED and your mind ready and to it.

You will have to have a bachelor's degree at least. Most community colleges are two-year schools, so you will need to go to another school after community college to finish your bachelor's degree.

they can only give you starter classes. if you want to sub, you only need a hs diploma and a background check (maybe a drug test dep on where you live) for a teaching degree, get set for a 4yr trip or more, but if you really care, it will be worth it to the ones who end up knowing you did later on:)
