Radio Shack does sell cell phones without a contract but they do not come cheap. The price you would get is the unactivated price, which will be the same as any store. You should get a refurbished phone from somewhere else because i think they only sell refurbished sprint phones. You could also get a At&T Go Phone and just put your sim card in it. Either Radio Shack or Best Buy sell them. If you try to get it at an AT&T store they will not do it because you shouldn't do that but everybody does it anyways. It doesn't matter if Best Buy or Radio Shack activates it because it does not run a credit check. Just look around at which phones they have on sale at the time.

Hey, I was typing along, giving you an answer, and I did not know that someone else was typing the same answer. You can just ignor it.

I think that you should return to Radio Shack and get a better look. Or maybe you should browse their website. http://www.radioshack.com

But I would not BUY for a re-seller. Pick the SERVICE first, and buy from them. They can probably give you the phones that work the best for their service. Go with the service that has the best signal in your area. So if that is Cingular - GO FOR IT. talk to your friends and ask them about dead-spots and hangups.

why dont you just go to the radio shack website and search for the phone or call the place and ask them if they know what your talking about. im sure they can be a lot of help. also if you knew like if it was [sprint, verizon, tmobile, cingular, nokia] that would help a lot moree too.
