The mother needs to know as soon as possible.

First, she is going to start having "symptoms" and it helps for her to know why.

Secondly, she needs to be eating properly and taking prescription pre-natal vitamins. She must also carefully discuss any medications she may be using with her doctor.

Third, she needs to see her doctor to be certain everything is going as it should be.

It can take time to find a suitable physician and get an appointment. The sooner you start the better.

The most critical time for the developing fetus is the first three months. This is when everything is being formed. From then on the baby is basically just growing.

There is no reason to put it off simply to get a more accurate test. Test early and often to be sure.

There are several reasons why a pregnancy should be diagnosed as soon as possible if suspected. The first is to get adequate prenatal care, so the mother has the best possible chances for a healthy pregnancy and an uncomplicated delivery. She may need to make adjustments in her lifestyle, like stopping smoking, drinking alcohol, or using recreational and/or prescription drugs that may be potentially hazardous to her unborn child. These substances do most of the damage to the developing fetus during the first trimester; after the second missed menstrual period, the woman will be about 9-10 weeks pregnant, and approaching the end of her first trimester at 12-weeks of gestation. Another is so the woman has adequate time to mentally adjust herself to her future role as a mother, and if she wants to go on with her pregnancy. If, by her own judgment, this isn't the time to have a child, then she'll have the time to decide whether to carry her gestation to term, or to get a safe, medically induced termination. It's safer to terminate a pregnancy during the first trimester, preferably before the 8th week if at all possible. As I have already said, by the second missed period the woman is closer to 9-10 weeks of gestation, and a termination carries greater risks to the woman's health as the pregnancy progresses.

HCG is on a steady increase the 1st 3 months of pregnancy then stops rising so fast. A test should be done after a missed period to get the BEST care and so you'll know to advoid drinking roller coaster exc things that could harm the baby. Yes a test will still be + after a 2ed missed period but, IT'S ALWAYS best to know as soon as possible to increase the chances of a good outcome. And for those who chose abortion it needs to be done while the pregnancy is VERY SMALL before 12 weeks to decrease the risk and the cost involved.

If the menses is irregular it is harder to detect the pregnancy hormone and so waiting can make the test more accurate. If the girl thinks shes may be pregnant make sure she is eating properly and taking a good pre-natal vitamin.

A pregnancy must be diagnosed as soon as possible, so that correct examinations and doctor care can be given to the mother and baby.

No and it might be a lot more accurate since the HCG hormone amount in the urine/blood, depending on the test, will be higher.

If you feel like waiting that long its your choice. I would recommend starting prenatal vitamins they can't hurt and can only help if you are pregnant.
