In most MBA courses it is the work experience that you need. In the university I work for it is 3 years relevant work experience. Check out our website for more information. Good luck.

The GMAT has nothing to do with work experience.

Whether you need work experience depends on the University you're applying to. Most require a minimum of 2 years experience and the "better" your job, the better it looks on the application.

The school I went to required 5 years progressively responsible work experience on top of GMAT and grades.
